Athletics Manitoba is sad to announce that Noelle Merkel has decided to step down from her position as Programs Manager. She will be moving on to a new opportunity as the 2022 Manitoba Winter Games Coordinator. Her last day with Athletics Manitoba will be Friday, Dec 11th.
Noelle has worked hard over the past 2 and half years and has contributed so much to the development of Athletics in the city and province. Her enthusiasm, and passion for sport are contagious. Her positive energy has not only been an asset to the association, but has made her a wonderful colleague and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her over the years.
While we are sad to see her go, her time with Athletics has inspired her to further pursue opportunities in the field of event management and we are delighted to know she will continue working to deliver quality sport opportunities for youth in the Province.
On behalf of our staff, coaches, officials and our Board of Directors, we would like to sincerely thank Noelle for everything. We truly wish her all the best, and while we might not be able to throw her a traditional going away party, we’ll look into hosting a virtual event in December for all those who may like to wish her well.
Until then, she’ll continue to work with our partners and stakeholders to ensure a smooth as possible transition for our ongoing programs as we look forward to a new year, with new challenges.
We will begin the hiring process immediately, with a job posting for a new Programs Manager to be distributed Friday, Nov 6th.
