The Diana Stevens Empower Run/Walk

Congratulations to Julia Zrinyi on her Gold medal in the 1500m at the Pan Am Junior Championships which took place in Medellin, Columbia over the weekend. Julia ran 4:36.88 to pick up her third Gold medal this summer. Julia also won Gold in the 1500m at the Canadian Junior Championships and the Canada Summer Games, and set the Manitoba Provincial record in the Junior Women's 1500m earlier this summer with a time 4:16.49.
Congratulations also to Eric Guy who lowered his Manitoba Provincial record in the Junior Men's 110m hurdles in the semi-finals in Columbia, with a time of 14.10. Eric advanced to the final and finished 7th with a time of 14.24. Eric set the previous Manitoba Provincial record of 14.16 earlier this summer at the Canada West Challenge in Calgary.
The third athlete from Winnipeg on the Canada PanAm Junior team was Alhaji Mansaray who placed 6th in the High Jump with a height of 2.05m Alhaji set a new Manitoba Provincial record at Canada West Challenge with a jump of 2.19m
Canada had the second highest medal count at the Championships with a total of 19 medals, 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze.
