Sport Manitoba awarded $23,000 in academic scholarships to fourteen high school students, six university students, and four Manitoba coaches this past year.
They included the Manitoba Foundation for Sport Scholarships, Milt Stegall Scholarships, Bud Tinsley Sport Leadership Scholarship, Coaching Manitoba Bursaries, and Princess Royal Pan Am Scholarships.
Athletics Manitoba is pleased to once again offer an outreach program to schools to assist with training and competition for the 2016 Outdoor Track Season.

The long term goal of this program is to develop and support a strong feeder system for Manitoba Games and other regional and provincial competitions.
Congratulations to Victoria Tachinski of Stride Ahead Tough Track once again,
on her continuing onslaught on the 400m record.
This time Victoria set a new Manitoba Youth & Junior Outdoor 400m record over the weekend
at the Beach Invitational with a time of 53.72. This breaks the record of 53.76 she set last year.
She also placed 2nd in the 800m with a time of 2:07.49 at the Mt Sac Invitational.
Both are World Junior Qualifying Times.
Victoria placed 2nd at the 2016 New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York in March in time of 53.97.
This is a new Canadian Youth Women's record and a Manitoba Youth, Junior and Senior Women's record.
Victoria set the Canadian Youth Women's 400m record last year with a time of 54.05
The Exclusive Use Training Time monthly calendars for the remainder of April
and the May and June Outdoor Exclusive Use Training Times at the University Stadium
are now posted under Resources/Exclusive Use.
Please note the last day of Indoor Exclusive Use Training was Tuesday, April 19th.
A reminder that the University Stadium will be under construction as of June 27th
and will not be available for use.
The Power Smart Manitoba Games are the province’s largest ongoing multi-sport program
bringing together participants from across the province.
The city of Steinbach will host the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Games from August 7-13th.
Athletics is in phase 1 – August 7th-10th.
