The first cross-Canada invitational track and field event for high school athletes was held May 12th in Toronto. It is an educational experience for young athletes that will teach about team spirit, pride, and celebrate the sport of track and field.
Teams from River East (male) and Oak Park (women) represented Manitoba, and they had some outstanding results. Congratulations to all athletes that represented Manitoba so well, with special congratulations to the following:
Alhaji Mansaray (River East) – 1st in three events – 100m – 11.28, High Jump – 1.95m, Long Jump – 6.24m
Lindsay Smith (Oak Park) – 2nd in 400m – 1:02.81, 3rd in 800m – 2:26.60
Josh Dyk (River East) – 3rd in 800m – 2:04.92, 5th in 1500m – 4:22.06
Caila Kucheravy (Oak Park) – 3rd in Long Jump – 5.00m, 6th in 100m Hurdles – 16.83
Brayden Schindell (River East) – 4th in 100m – 11.61, 5th in 200m – 24.08
Taylor Sprague (Oak Park) – 5th in 100m Hurdles – 16.17
Michael Mitchell (River East) – 5th in Long Jump – 5.55m
Amy Moyer (Oak Park) – 5th in Shot Put – 8.49m
