The Canadian Track & Field Championships wrapped up today. Ten athletes represented Manitoba at this year’s Championships. Congratulations to all athletes on their performances.
Results from Saturday, July 31th’s events:
Nicole Edwards placed 2nd in the 1500m final with a time 4:16.60
Nathan Vadeboncouer placed 2nd in the 400m final with a time of 47.14
Jared MacLeod placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.26
Quin Ferguson placed 3rd in the 800m with a time of 1:51.11
Dana Baker was 9th in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.34m
Colin Mathieson won his third gold medal of the championships in the 100m T54 with a time of 15.19 and was 4th in the 800m (wheelchair)
Results from Friday, July 30th’s events:
Nathan Vadeboncouer has qualified for the final in the 400m, placing 2nd in his heat with a time of 47.87
Nicole Edwards qualified for the 1500m final with a time 4:18.91
Josh Gundrum jumped 14.16m to place 10th in the Triple Jump
Colin Mathieson won the 400m T54 with a time of 51.49 (wheelchair)
Results from Thursday, July 29th’s events:
Quin Ferguson qualified for the 800m final finishing second is his heat with a time of 1:51.67. He goes into the final with the 4th fastest time. The final goes Saturday afternoon and will likely be shown during CBC’s live broadcast.
Colin Mathieson, formerly of Manitoba, now living and training in Sherbrooke, QB won the 200m T54 (wheelchair) event with a time of 26.39.
Cliff Caines unfortunately had no height in the Pole Vault so did not finish the decathlon, and Nathan Labbe failed to quailify in the Long Jump so does not advance to the final.
