Athletics Manitoba is coordinating travel to nationals this year for any interested athletes and coaches. Head and Assistant coaches will be put in place for both a Junior and Senior Team. These coaches will be responsible for managing the team at nationals and providing support to athletes whose personal coaches are not able to attend the championships. The Head and Assistant Coaches will have their travel costs paid. Athletes will represent their clubs and be responsible for their own entries. Personal coaches are welcome to sign up for this travel group as well. Athletics Manitoba will book flights and accommodations. One rental car will be rented for the team coaches to use for grocery store runs and in case of emergencies.
We are currently working with a travel agent to book flights. The travelling group will depart July 1 and return July 5.
Rooms have been booked at Campus Towers (quad occupancy). All rooms are queen suites with kitchens (full size fridges). Athletes and coaches will need to purchase LRT tickets to get from the hotel to the track (track is 2 stops away from the hotel). A shuttle will be taken from the airport to the hotel. These fees are not included in the price noted below.
Athletes and personal coaches who are interested in travelling with the team can register on Trackie. Registration site will be operational soon. The estimated trip cost is $1000-$1200 an athlete. Registration and a deposit of $600 is due May 20 with the balance due to Athletics Manitoba June 6. Paying online is an option, but a service fee will be charged. Cheques will also be accepted and can be mailed in or delivered to the Athletics Manitoba office.
