April 28th – Updated Health Orders
This is a quick note to clarify that the majority of changes to the health orders coming into effect tomorrow, April 28th, do not affect the established training protocols for Athletic Manitoba members.
There is however ONE item of note regarding spectators.
ORDER 13
13(5) Subject to subsection (6), no spectators are permitted at a sporting activity taking place at an outdoor sporting facility.
13(6) Only one parent or caregiver for each minor participating in a sporting activity at an outdoor sporting facility may watch the sporting activity and all spectators must maintain a separation of at least two metres from each other.
All clubs, coaches and staff will be required to enforce this regulation, and all members are asked to kindly follow this requirement in all training circumstances.
In addition to the above noted changes, training groups must continue to follow the general principles outlined by the National Back on Track Guidelines as well as the following Athletics Manitoba guidelines;
- Any group of participants cannot exceed 10 persons – there can be multiple groups, but there can be no interaction between different groups of participants.
- Coaches and clubs must keep detailed and accurate attendance for all practices.
- Groups of 10 must be clearly identified and communicated to all participants
- All members (coaches and athletes) should maintain a minimum of 2m distance from others at all times.
We sincerely appreciate your efforts up until now, and we once again remind our members how important it is that we continue to follow the Provincial Health Orders (in all contexts) in order to maintain a safe training environment for all.
