UPDATE: APRIL 23rd – Additional information and explanations provided by Sport and Law Strategy Group. This is a great article for coaches AND parents to understand these new considerations around Safe Virtual Sport.
Addition of Virtual Training to Liability Insurance coverage
(This update also applies to all Sports who use the Sport Manitoba Insurance Program)
Our liability coverage has now been extended to include Virtual Training, based on the following conditions,
- Virtual training must only be available to registered members = no live streaming to the general public.
- In addition, Athletics MB and all member coaches must include the following disclaimer on any social media posts that relate to virtual training content:
All actions and movements shown in this presentation follow a skills and progression based model of learning, subject to the NSO and sanctioned by Athletics Manitoba. The material found within is general in basis and does not take into account individual needs or limitations. Anyone who applies this program on their own does so at their own risk.
Coaches have all been informed of these new requirements.
Sport Accident Insurance Policy has been re-instated.
