Athletics MB is pleased to announce that the Flying M Athletic Club, with support from Athletics Canada will be hosting a Para Development Clinic at the University of Manitoba on April 28th and 29th.
Athletics prides itself on being an inclusive sport, with competitive opportunities available for all participants. Events are available for physical disabilities – both wheelchair and standing – athletes with visual impairments and athletes with an intellectual disability.
These try-It sessions are open to ALL participants and NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! There will be opportunities to try a variety of track and field activities customized for each attendee’s disability and ability level. All day-time sessions are free to attend.

Friday Try-It sessions are designed to introduce school groups, teachers, coaches and students to the wide variety of Para Athletics opportunities available. School groups/teams are strongly encouraged to attend, but individual youth and their parents are also welcome!
Attendees are encouraged to select the time slot that works best for them, as the content will be similar in each session. Attendees from Friday looking for additional opportunities are welcome to return on Saturday afternoon!
Saturday morning sessions are professional development opportunities specifically designed for coaches and officials. Officiating content will include a review of important rule variations for para-athletics events. Coaching content will include technical analysis of events, as well as discussions around creating safe and inclusive environments for athletes.
Saturday afternoon will bring coaches, athletes and officials together for a fun, interactive session.
Lunch will be provided for all coaches and officials who attend the Saturday morning sessions.
