Athletics Manitoba Outreach Program 2021-2022

Athletics Manitoba is pleased to offer an outreach program once again to schools to help assist with training and competition for the 2021-22 Indoor and Outdoor Track Seasons. The long-term goal of this program is to develop and support a strong feeder system for Manitoba Games and other regional and provincial competitions.

The program is targeted at grades 5 through 9 (U14 and U16 athletes) as an introduction to further Athletics training and running, jumping, and throwing events; however, depending on the size of the school and the number of athletes, high school students can be engaged in the program as well. The resources from this program are designed to help athlete’s transition from an introductory Run Jump Throw Wheel program into more advanced technical program.

We are offering in-person clinics from our clinicians for interested schools throughout the winter and into the summer. This includes the opportunity for athletes with a disability to try out para-athletics events (see next page for more information). Interest schools will also be able to access instructional videos that can be used as a teaching tool.

There is no fee for this programming, but all schools MUST HAVE AN ATHLETICS MANITOBA MEMBERSHIP. (Complete the school registration form available here).

Following the clinic(s), athletes and/or teams will be encouraged to compete at Age Class Championships in June.

How do we get in?  How does the program work?
