Day 2

It was another early start to day 2, with Men’s Long Jump Qualifying kicking off the action bright and early at 9am. Both Mathieu Indome and Graham Hutchison-Campbell hit solid jumps and were safely through to the finals, scheduled for the final day of competition on Saturday.  

Day 2 of the men’s decathlon also started off well with both Max and Michael putting together strong 110m Hurdle races, setting the tone for the rest of their day.  

The 200m crew continued the positive momentum. Jordan Soufi advanced through to the A final, and Luc Deleau (who was subbed in for the injured Seb) advancing through to the B Final. Brianna Tynes and Nicole Davis both advanced through to the B Final on the women’s side.  

Matthew Jolicoeur managed to snag the final spot in the Special O men’s 200m A final (running just shy of his personal best in a time of 27.34). Stephen Rozniatowski had a great run with a personal best time of 28.17 and advanced to the B Final.  

On the women’s side, both Regan Hofley and Vesta Orchard did what they needed to do to advance to the women’s Special O A final. With Vesta Orchard also running a personal best time of 32.53.  

We earned our first medal with Madisson Lawrence’s jump of 1.74m in Women’s High Jump to finish 2nd 

Angela Kroeker and Marina Gross both ran solid races in their 800m heats to advance through to the B finals.  

Both Noah Fillion and Tristan Allen advanced through the B finals of the men’s 800m.  

Jordan Furletti managed to pull together a massive 1m personal best to advance into the Javelin Final. Unfortunately, Nico Lepage had his best and last attempt in Javelin ruled a foot fault and did not advance. 

Adam Andres ran a strong heat and advanced to the men’s 110m Hurdle A final. Sarah Smith just narrowly missed out on a spot in the A final, finishing 9th and therefore advancing to the B Final.  

Calvin Reimer had a personal best performance of 9:30.00 finishing 8th in the 3000m Steeplechase, with Will Boyle finishing close behind in 9th with 9:30.18.  

Cadence Christie put together a strong run in her 3000m Steeplechase, her time of 11:20.26 was her fastest time over an actual full length 3000m race this season.  

Rofiat Agboola and Eniola Adepoju finished 7th and 10th respectively in the women’s Triple Jump Final.  

Both Daxx Turner and Zandre Castello advanced to the men’s High Jump Final, with Games rookie Zandre hitting the auto-qualifying mark of 1.96m and achieving a new personal best in the process.  

Back in the Throws department, both Anna McConnel and Voke Ewhrudjakpor advanced to the women’s Shot Put Final. Voke’s best throw of 12.05m was also a personal best.  

Once again Michael Bachmier and Max Spesier finished off the day with the final event of the Decathlon. Both earning overall point total personal bests of 5476 and 6149 respectively.
